In a bit to combat bullying in schools across the country, the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) has established a 7-member committee to address bullying incidents in all Nigeria schools, reinforcing its commitment to student welfare and a safe learning environment.

In a press release on Monday February 17, 2025 by the Director, Press & Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, emphasized the urgent need for effective interventions, citing the psychological impact of bullying on students. He stressed that the committee will review reported cases and ensure swift action to complement the 21-member team working on a National Policy on Anti-Bullying.

Dr. Alausa reiterated the Ministry’s zero-tolerance stance on bullying, urging school administrators, teachers, parents, and students to support this initiative.

“This aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, prioritizing education as a driver of national development”, the Minister said.
