Emeritus Professor of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Anetekhai Martins Agenuma has commended the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his visionary leadership in establishing the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, a bold step towards harnessing Nigeria’s aquatic resources for sustainable economic growth.

Prof. Agenuma in a goodwill message at a workshop on Review of Sea Fisheries Bill and Fisheries Management Plan on Tuesday April 15, 2025 in Lagos, emphasised the need to focus on crafting innovative management strategies, embracing circular economy principles, and clarifying key terms to ensure effective implementation.

While welcoming distinguished guests, esteemed colleagues, and attendees to the workshop, he said the strategic workshop on reviewing the Sea Fisheries Bill and Fisheries Management Plan is a good one and welcome development.

“I wish you all fruitful discussions and look forward to our collective success in blue economic development”, Prof. Agenuma stated.

The workshop will hold from April 15 to 16, 2025.
