In a bid to encourage academic excellence, best graduating student overall at the 28th convocation ceremony of the Lagos State University (LASU), Nwosu Isioma Sybil of the Biochemistry Department with a CGPA of 4.93, has been rewarded with N10million by the Lagos State Governor and visitor to the university, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for her exceptional academic performance.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, ably represented by his Deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, announced this during the grand finale of the 28th convocation ceremony.

He said this was in line with what the Governor did for the best graduating student overall during the 27th convocation ceremony in 2024 where Olaniyi Mubaraq Olawale of the Accounting Education with a CGPA of 4.98 got same N10million.

Governor Sanwo-Olu encouraged students to remain steadfast, stay focused and thrive for achievements, adding that education is the backbone of every society.
