The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State; Federal University of Technology, Ikot Obasi, Akwa Ibom State and Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi State have confirmed receipts of students loan from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the 2024/2025 academic session.

In an acknowledgement letter to the MD/CEO of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr on August 8, 2025, signed by Dr. M. A. Akinde, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, the institution confirmed that the sum of Twenty-One Million, Six hundred and Sixteen Thousand, Two hundred and Twenty Naira (N21,616,220.00) only was received, while appealing that subsequent payment in respect of the students loan should be paid to the designated account earlier submitted to NELFUND office.

As for Federal University of Technology, Ikot Obasi, signed by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Leo Daniel, the institution acknowledged the receipt of Seventy Six Nine hwundred and Eighteen Thousand Naira (N76,918,000) being payment of school charges for Four Hundred and Ninety Two (492) students for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The fund according to the Vice-Chancellor was received on 20th June, 2025 and 2nd July, 2025 into the university TSA account. “We sincerely appreciate the management team of NELFUND,” he said.

While the Abubarkar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, in its acknowledgement letter signed by the Registrar, Lawal Sambo, acknowledged the receipt of the first batch of the NELFUND disbursement amounting to Fourteen Million, Three Hundred and Seventy-Nine Thousand, Two Hundred and Eleven Naira (N14,379,211.00) only which was released on the 5th of August, 2025 for the 2024/2025 academic session in respect of 289 students.

Appreciating the efforts of the Federal Government and the NELFUND for this laudable educational support programme, the Registrar expressed profound commendation to the NELFUND for its outstanding commitment towards promoting access to quality education in Nigeria.

He said, “The Polytechnic value this partnership and look forward to continued collaboration in advancing access to quality education in Nigeria.”
