The OAAN President, Mr. Sola Akinsiku, expressed his confidence in the new executive council members, recognising them as a formidable and dependable team.

Those saddle to lead the affairs of the association alongside the President are; Mr. Omo Abunene, as Vice President; Mr. Babs Fagade, as Publicity Secretary; Mr. Chinweuba Nwagu, as Treasurer, the Immediate Past President; Chief Emmanuel Ajufo, in the constitutional capacity as IPP; Mr. Churchil Nwagwu; Mrs. Adeola Odesanya; Chief George Onwujiariri; Mr. Ambose Nbodim; Mr. Thaddeus Ukpe; Mr. Kayode Akanbi, and Mrs. Modupe Adewuyi, as Ex-Officio.

The President, in his remarks disclosed that the hitherto positions of the General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary are no longer provided for in the OAAN Constitution, saying that the two positions will now be combined in the functions of the Executive Secretary to be announced soon.

“Our constitution provides for an Executive Secretary and that has effectively removed the need to have both the General Secretary and an Assistant General Secretary”, he said.

Speaking on his re-election, Mr. Akinsiku said the gesture is a demonstration of the confidence of the electorates in the individual or in the team. On the new executive plan for the Association in the next two years, Akinsiku reiterated commitment to the affairs of the Association.

He said, “We already know where we are on most of the issues; we are also familiar with the new challenges springing up, we are also familiar with the progress that we have made on some of the issues that are important to us as an association and we will continue to pursue those things that will enhance professionalism in our sector.

“We will continue to pursue the OAAN Charter, and I can tell you that we are nearer it now; by the Grace of God, very soon, there will be calls for celebration.”
